Be Love is hiring in the kitchen! Join our team preparing plant based, gluten-free food with a focus on local produce, world cuisine, and healthy, whole-food, from-scratch inspired dishes.

We work as a very small team - 3 kitchen staff per shift. For daytime, one prep/dish, one advanced prep, and one line cook (with at least one prep cook trained to assist on the line during busy rushes). For evenings, two line cooks - one hot side, with cold side running calls and the pass, and a dishwasher.

Ideal candidates will be proficient in sauteé and plating/garde manger, and able to handle preparing multiple types of dishes simultaneously and efficiently. ​Communication skills, effort, initiative, and comraderie with coworkers are paramount in our close-knit, team oriented workspace.

Our candidate will be prepared to: efficiently and accurately prepare our ever-changing seasonal menu maintaining the standards of presentation and quality of dishes; work harmoniously with others and being confident under pressure; completing a daily opening and/or nightly closing checklist of duties.

Your responsibilities include: preparing menu components to order at a consistent standard; stocking,



restocking prep and communicating with prep cooks/FOH of any shortages or modifications of said prep; ensuring to clean the equipment and kitchen area to a high standard and report any issues to the chef promptly; opening & setting up or closing the dish area each shift; cleaning and/or extra prep jobs during downtime; dishwashing; removal of garbage/compost/recycling; assisting the team in the receiving and putting away of deliveries. Choice candidates will work well in a team, keeping a positive attitude during your shift, helping the team to have a successful service and fun shift.

After an interview, potential candidates will be asked to schedule a 2-3 hour trial shift, which will be paid by e-transfer at a rate of $20/hr. We will use this time to assess skill level and if we see a good fit, and subsequently communicate if hiring shall proceed. Starting wage is a sliding scale based on experience, skill level and anticpated amount of training required.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 32.0 per week
