What You'll Do - Drive projects to completion that will contribute to an existing trading strategy - Write code to automate every aspect of the trading system - Code in Python and use relational time-series databases (kdb+) - Analyze ‘dirty’ data sets to identify possible investment signals - Develop predictive quantities to improve existing trading strategy - Take charge of your own projects, while collaborating with your colleagues and with the portfolio manager What You Bring - Mandatory: PhD and Advanced Degree/Masters in in mathematics, physics, hard sciences or related fields in quantitative disciplines.

Search Engines Are Not Helpful The questions and answers have been constructed so that the answers are not easily ‘searchable.’ Step 2 Initial Interview Your first interview will be a conversation wherewe’ll get to know you better, and review a simple technical question. We’re interested in learning more about your academic background, interests, and anyrelevant experiences you’d like to share. You’ll have a chance to walk us through pastprojects or situations where you had to think critically, solve a problem and driveownership of projects.

We encourage you to be curious throughout the interview process. Comeprepared with any questions you have. Step 3 Technical Problem Solving Interview If selected after the initial review, you’ll be invited to a second-round interview with a few of our team members.

Most interviews will be conducted over Zoom and will last approximately 90minutes. This will be a technical interview, focused more on your skills and knowledge than personalfit.



Your interviewer will start with a few questions about your academic and professionalbackground, followed by technical questions assessing your understanding of probability,logic, algorithms, and other relevant topics.

Please remember that our interviewer wants you to succeed and that talking with them and explaining your understanding of the problemas you go will give you the best possible chance of success. interview tips Prepare These problems are similar in form to the questions from the online assessment but significantly more difficult. We want to be sure you have adequate time so we recommend that you give yourself at least 4 days toreview the subjects at hand.

Show Your Work

As you work through the questions, we would like you to "show your work" by talkingthrough your thought process step by step with your interviewer. As you talk through your thought process, we will be able to giveyou feedback on whether you're headed in the right direction. Step 4 In-Person Interview to Meet the Team Prior to your in-person interview, you will be given a take-home data analysis project.

You will receive a real-world dataset and will be asked to analyze it, draw conclusions, and form recommendations based on your findings. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate how you approach an open-ended problem, including how you think about the data, what assumptions you make, and how you communicate your results. The final stage of interviews is in-person at our Vancouver office.

You will spend half a day with our quant team members. This stage begins with a five-minute executive presentation of your take-home data analysis project, where you will walk the team through your methodology, findings, and recommendations. The team will then ask follow-up questions about your approach and reasoning.

From there, you will have one‑on‑one interviews with each team member. This is for our team members to get to know you better and ask you about your professional and academic experiences and qualifications along with some general knowledge concepts. This is also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions you might have about the company.

These interactions will allow you to get a sense of our working culture. Finally, the team will take you out for lunch.
