Join our team as an Epic Analyst in the Health Information System (HIS) Department!

The HIS Department is responsible for the continuing and ongoing support of patient safety and care through maintaining and improving the Atlas Alliance's Epic Health Information System.

Alliance is a partnership of 18 Ontario healthcare institutions sharing one Epic HIS. The vision of the HIS Department is to continue to support and upgrade our integrated health information management system and increase the quality and safety of care, enhancing both the patient and provider experience now and for generations to come.

What You Will Do This role is primarily responsible for building and maintaining the Epic Hospital Information System for the Atlas Alliance group of health organizations, including but not limited to: The Ottawa Hospital, The Ottawa Hospital Family Health Team, The University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Hawkesbury General Hospital, Renfrew Victoria Hospital, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, Winchester District Memorial Hospital, Kemptville District Hospital, Deep River District Hospital and Group Health Centre. The role requires constant coordination with operational stakeholders to design workflows, document requirements, gain consensus and ultimately create and test the workflows in Epic. The role is responsible for implementing Epic system upgrades, ongoing monitoring or error queues and actioning errors as required, as well as ongoing support both during regular hours and in an on-call capacity.

This position requires excellent attention to detail, capacity to understand technical concepts/logic, excellent communication and change management skills, time management skills and the ability to shift between multiple complex ongoing projects at any given time. The position is a combination of business analysis, project management, quality assurance, development/configuration and support.

The role also requires periodic adjustments in work hours and overtime to accommodate meetings and project-related deadlines.

What You Will Bring

- Three (3) year Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Health Information Management, Computer Science, Health Administration, or a related discipline OR College Diploma in a relevant discipline combined with equivalent related experience
- Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in Information Systems including previous experience in project management (other healthcare-based experience may also be considered);
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in leading multidisciplinary teams;
- Experience leading components in the implementation of medium to large scale systems and solution design;
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking,



and decision-making skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and presentation skills;
- Experience in documenting and communicating processes and procedures;
- Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with team members;
- Ability to prioritize a large number of requests;
- Ability to facilitate working sessions with large user communities and obtain agreement to functional/design and workflow requirements;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word);
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.

You will stand out with:

- Valid certification in the relevant Epic Application;
- Experience working in a relevant work environment;
- Experience developing and implementing standardized policies/procedures/protocols;
- Experience with configuring computer systems, creating reports (SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.), and/or working in a programming environment;
- Experience with quality assurance of clinical systems;
- Proficiency in English and French, oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
