Organization and Health System The Ottawa Hospital is a multi-campus learning and research hospital serving Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and Eastern Nunavut.

The Health Information System Department maintains and improves the Atlas Alliance's integrated Epic Health Information System.

The Atlas Alliance is a partnership of 18 Ontario healthcare institutions sharing one Epic Health Information System.

Position Overview The position is presented as a Senior Business Analyst and Epic Analyst opportunity in the Health Information System Department.

The role supports patient safety, care delivery, health information flow, and patient and provider experience across the Atlas Alliance.

The position combines business analysis, project management, quality assurance, development or configuration, and system support.

Schedule

- The role includes eight-hour day shifts and a 24-hour on-call rotation.
- Work hours may periodically be adjusted and overtime may be required for meetings and project deadlines.

Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Epic Hospital Information System for participating healthcare organizations.
- Coordinate workflow design, requirements documentation, stakeholder consensus, Epic configuration, testing, and system upgrades.
- Monitor error queues, action errors, and provide ongoing support during regular hours and on call.




- Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary implementations, solution design, quality assurance, and user working sessions.

Required Qualifications

- A relevant three-year undergraduate degree or relevant college diploma combined with equivalent related experience is required.
- At least five years of progressive Information Systems experience, including project management, is required.
- At least one year of multidisciplinary team leadership and experience with medium- to large-scale system implementations are required.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, presentation, and decision-making skills are required.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize requests, facilitate working sessions, and obtain agreement on requirements is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and eligibility to work in Canada are required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Epic application certification is preferred.
- Experience with system configuration, SQL, Crystal Reports, programming environments, or clinical systems quality assurance is preferred.
- Advanced oral English and French proficiency is preferred.
