Summary:

The Senior Edge and Vision Engineer in EclimAi is a crucial role that sits at the intersection of software engineering, AI research, hardware engineering, and leadership. As the Senior Edge and Vision Engineer, you will own the responsibility for EclimAi’s entire edge device fleet and the computer-vision stack that drives HVAC and BMS control at live customer sites. You will commission new edge devices and manage their health including their firmware, networking, remote access, and OTA.

You will train and deploy our novel occupancy detection models, integrate BACnet/Modbus building controllers and cameras, work with our hardware partners, and field contractors.

This is a unique role where you will report directly to the CTO and the CEO giving you visibility in the senior management.

Responsibilities:

As the Senior Edge and Vision Engineer, you will:

- Commission, network, and maintain our fleet of NVIDIA Jetson devices at customer sites and resolve JetPack, GPU driver, Snap, kernel etc.
- Operate remote access and fleet OTA (Mender, Allxon, and related tooling) so sites stay reachable and updatable.
- Keep our live sites healthy (our deployments currently span accross Dublin, Maryland and Dubai).
- Develop, train, evaluate, and deploy occupancy detection models and quantize them for edge inference.
- Discover and integrate BACnet/Modbus BMS and HVAC stacks (Daikin iTM/VRV, Hitachi, IntesisBox, Mitsubishi/Trend etc).
- Map rooms to AC units and CCTV, verify control loops, and fix comfort/setpoint and offline-edge faults in the field.




- Support our R&D; integrations with our hardware partners worldwide and translate them into deployable architecture.
- Support our research initiatives with universities who are an integral part of our R&D; team.

Qualifications required for this role:

Must haves

- Either a PhD in Computer Science (with focus on either computer vision or other fields of research in machine learning)/Mathematics/Electrical Engineering/Robotics etc., or an M.Sc. in the aforementioned fields with at least 5+ years of research-based work experience in startups/ labs, or any educational qualification with at least 12+ years of experience working in startups where you must have built patented machine learing solutions.
- Hands-on experience with single-board computers (SBCs) such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Nvidia Jetson and microcontrollers like system-on-a-chip (SOC) ESP32.
- Advanced experience in computer vision and pattern recognition, with a track record of building and deploying real-time perception systems on SBCs using either Python or C++ or both.
- Practical edge ML deployment experience: ONNX and/or TensorRT (quantize, run, monitor) on constrained hardware.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)



and tools for model optimization and deployment on edge devices.
- Advanced experience with CUDA, embedded Linux, GPU/accelerator hardware.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, C++, Rust, GitHub, CI/CD.

Strongly preferred

- Familiarity with vendor HVAC stacks such as Daikin iTM/VRV, Trend/Mitsubishi, Hitachi, IntesisBox.
- Explicit written communication for maintiaing documentations, reading and writing academic research papers, and clear yet simple communication for the non-technical leadership team.
- Knowledge of OTA/fleet tooling (Mender, Allxon, and Jumpcloud etc.)
- Trend's to knowledge of network architecture.

Nice to Haves

Prior work in smart buildings, occupancy-driven HVAC optimisation, or energy/submetering adjacent systems.
