About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead their power systems planning initiatives in Kimberley. This strategic role involves forecasting future energy needs, analyzing grid capacity, and developing long-term expansion plans to ensure a robust and reliable electricity supply. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute long-term power system expansion plans, considering load growth, recent generation, and network upgrades.
- Perform comprehensive power flow, stability, and contingency analysis using advanced modeling software.
- Assess the impact of new projects, such as renewable energy sources and transmission lines, on the existing grid.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and internal departments to align planning strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations,



and recommendations for senior management and external parties.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning methodologies and tools.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in power system planning, analysis, and operations.
- Expertise in power system simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, GE MAP, PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of grid operations, market mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in developing strategic infrastructure plans and investment cases.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
