Our client, a leading sports institute in Kimberley , is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Sports Psychologist to provide mental performance enhancement services to elite athletes and teams. This role involves assessing athletes' psychological needs, developing individualized intervention strategies, and delivering training to improve focus, resilience, confidence, and performance under pressure. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of sports scientists and medical professionals, contributing to the overall development and success of athletes. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments of athletes to identify mental strengths and areas for development.
- Design and deliver evidence-based interventions to enhance mental skills such as focus, confidence, and resilience.
- Provide individual counseling and performance coaching to athletes and teams.
- Develop and implement mental skills training programs for athletes and coaches.
- Collaborate effectively with coaches,
medical staff, and other performance support personnel.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in sports psychology.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines of the profession.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Sport Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling Psychology.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., HPCSA).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with athletes and sports teams.
- Proven expertise in performance enhancement, stress management, and team dynamics.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in research and delivering workshops is highly desirable.
