Responsibilities

- Write and test product and system development code to high standards of quality and reliability
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, evaluating available technologies to make sound architectural decisions
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide constructive feedback on style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, keeping materials current with product and program updates
- Triage and debug product or system issues by analysing root causes and understanding the impact on hardware, network, or service operations
Requirements / Skills
Google is looking for a developer who combines solid systems‑level programming skills with a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on embedded development experience and is comfortable operating with some autonomy on complex technical problems.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field
- 5+ years of software development experience in C/C++
- 3+ years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
- 1+ year of experience with software design and architecture
- 3+ years of experience working with embedded operating systems
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred
- Experience with data structures and algorithms (5 years preferred)
- Technical leadership experience (1 year preferred)
- Familiarity with Android development is considered an asset
