Solar Electric Draftsperson

SkyFire Energy is seeking a highly motivated and capable team member to help us in a drafting capacity. In this role, you will be working with an experienced team in a fast-paced environment on exciting opportunities, both large and small, that make positive impacts in the communities with which we work. This position could be located in Calgary, Edmonton or Kelowna. This position is considered Hybrid, and the employee can work a combination of in the office and remote.

About You The candidate best suited to this position will have the ability to efficiently and effectively manage a consistent, and at times heavy workload while thriving in a self-directed work environment. The candidate will have technical drafting skills and competencies and the ability to engage team members, by phone and via email in a professional, yet personable manner. Candidates must have previous Electrical Design and Drafting experience.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a passion for renewable energy and the renewable energy industry; along with progressive workplace experience and accountability.

Primary duties include





- Design solar system electrical and mechanical drawings

- Other tasks as required

Requirements
- Familiarity with solar and/or construction industries

- Electrical drafting experience
- Drawing experience using AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Technician diploma or degree or similar training
- 2-3 years experience

Considered an Asset
- Project Management skills

- HOMER analysis skills
- PVSyst and experience with performance analysis

- Solar electric drafting experience

- Building construction experience

- Electrical code familiarity
