Role Description The Speech-Language Pathologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kamloops, BC. This position involves assessing speech, language, and communication needs of children with autism and developing individualized treatment plans. Daily tasks include providing direct therapy sessions, monitoring progress, and adjusting interventions based on evidence-based practices.
The role requires close collaboration with ABA therapists, educators, and families, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and participation in team meetings.
The Speech-Language Pathologist also contributes to caregiver training and supports generalization of skills across settings.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust skills in Speech Therapy and Speech assessment and intervention.
- Candidates should possess skills and experience in managing Dysphagia and related swallowing concerns.
- Candidates should possess skills in assessing and treating Communication Disorders across diverse pediatric populations.
- Candidates should possess skills in evaluating and supporting Language Disorders, including expressive and receptive language needs.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) and current registration/licensure with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Experience working with children with autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions in clinical, school, or community settings.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and family-centered communication skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver evidence-based interventions, maintain detailed records, and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
