POSITION SUMMARY:

The Spirit Way Second-Stage Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and day-to-day administration of the Spirit Way Second-Stage Program. The coordinator will support the effective operation of the program by ensuring that services are delivered in a professional, efficient, respectful, and confidential manner, in accordance with the mission, goals, objectives, policies, and philosophy of Helping Spirit Lodge Society. The coordinator will provide day-to-day support, guidance, and coordination to the Spirit Way staff team and assist in ensuring that program activities, participant services, documentation, and operational requirements are carried out effectively.

The Coordinator will also work collaboratively with staff, residents, community partners, and service providers to support the safety, well-being, and successful transition of women and families participating in the Spirit Way Second-Stage Program.

POSITION DETAILS:

Compensation: starting at $30/hr for 40 hrs/week

Paid vacation starting at 3 weeks/year (vacation allowance increases over time with the organization)

Up to 15 paid sick days/year

Paid time off for statutory holidays

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

Carry out the purpose and objectives of the Helping Spirit Lodge Society

· To be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and act in all emergencies

· To be responsible for the security and control of the building including overseeing access





· Strong proposal writing skills to expand and enhance programming for Spirit Way Second Stage

· Strong rent calculation and reporting skills as per funding requirements

· Maintain a current awareness of developments in assigned areas of responsibility as they relate to second-stage transition programs

· Case Management

· Strong Data input for statical purposes

QUALIFICATIONS

· Completed bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) preffered

· Three years’ experience in social service sector with two years in a manager role

· Valid Driver’s License, clean drivers abstract and access to vehicle

· Criminal Record Check clearance

· Ability to work flexible schedule

· Knowledge of and experience in the First Nation’s community with a working understanding of history, traditions and community resources

· Knowledge of the impacts of family violence and its effects on women and children

· Ability to identify and direct individuals experiencing trauma, mental health substance use, sexual abuse and or homelessness to appropriate resources
