W2 Only | No C2C Arrangements We are partnering with a well-established, industry-leading organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Irvine. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering significant visibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to step into a leadership-focused role within a collaborative accounting environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of operational accounting and accounts receivable expertise, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and contribute to a fast-paced month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex accounts receivable functions, including cash application, deposit reconciliations, aging analysis, and customer account research
- Process and reconcile high-volume customer remittances across multiple invoices and orders
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close support schedules
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset records and related accounting schedules
- Assist with financial reporting and general ledger maintenance
- Support audit requests and organize supporting documentation
- Monitor outstanding receivables and help drive collection and reconciliation efforts
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members
- Partner with leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong accounts receivable and cash application experience required
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Proficiency with QuickBooks required
- ERP system experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
