Our client is looking for a skilled and dependable Telecoms Field Technician to join their expanding installation and maintenance team serving the Kimberley area. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic networks and related telecommunications equipment at customer premises and network points. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client's services, providing excellent on-site support. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working independently in the field and possesses robust technical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and repair fibre optic cables and associated equipment at customer locations and network infrastructure points.
- Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose network connectivity issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Ensure all installations are performed to company standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed,
including installation details and test results.
- Provide basic customer education on installed services and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fibre Optic Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of fibre optic installation techniques, splicing, testing, and connectors.
- Familiarity with telecommunications network infrastructure and equipment.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to schedules.
- Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
