About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Tuna Loiner to join an established seafood processing operation in Vancouver, BC.
This is a hands-on production position focused on breaking down whole tuna using a band saw and preparing high-quality tuna loins. The ideal candidate has direct tuna loining experience and understands the importance of precision, product yield, consistency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a band saw to safely break down whole tuna into loins.
- Perform clean and precise loining cuts while maximizing product yield.
- Trim and portion tuna according to quality and size specifications.
- Maintain consistent cuts and product presentation.
- Meet daily production and quality targets.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected workstation.
- Support overall seafood production activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with tuna loining is required.
- Experience operating a band saw in a seafood or food-processing environment.
- Strong understanding of tuna handling, trimming, yield, and quality standards.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced seafood processing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically capable of performing hands-on work in a production environment.
- Ability to follow workplace safety and food-handling procedures.
Preferred
- Experience in high-volume seafood processing.
- Experience working with multiple fish species or processing lines.
- Food safety certification.
- Experience with export-grade seafood production.
