Company Overview: Advanced Environmental Services Inc. is a growing environmental services company specializing in skilled duct cleaning, asbestos and mould abatement, dry ice & media blasting, and laser cleaning. We are centrally located in Winnipeg and operate a diverse fleet of vehicles, specialized equipment, tools and jobsite materials. We are looking for a Shop Manager to manage our shop, fleet, equipment and inventory systems. This is more than a mechanic position. We are looking for someone who is mechanically skilled, highly organized and takes pride in keeping a shop running efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, while also developing and maintaining systems for equipment maintenance, inventory control, material issuance, purchasing, cost tracking and shop organization. The ideal candidate is someone who sees something that needs to be fixed, organized or improved and takes ownership of it without needing to be asked. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Manage the day-to-day operation of the shop, fleet, equipment and tool inventory. - Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on company vehicles, equipment and tools. - Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and ensure required servicing is completed on time. - Maintain and repair fleet vehicles, PTO systems, engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as generators, pumps, small engines and specialized equipment. - Manage parts, supplies, tools and equipment inventory, including receiving, issuing, tracking and reordering. - Issue equipment,



tools and materials to technicians and maintain accountability for company assets. - Keep the shop clean, organized, secure and efficient. - Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, inventory and purchase records. - Monitor repair and maintenance costs, identify recurring issues and look for opportunities to reduce expenses. - Coordinate outside repairs and specialty services when required. - Provide technicians and department managers with equipment, maintenance and troubleshooting support. - Recommend equipment repairs, replacements and improvements to management. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Mechanical experience with vehicles, equipment or machinery; fleet or heavy-duty experience is an asset. - Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Knowledge of preventative maintenance and mechanical systems, including engines, PTO, hydraulic, electrical and drivetrain systems. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory, maintenance schedules and records. - Good computer skills and the ability to use or learn inventory, maintenance and work-order systems. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and take ownership of responsibilities. - Ability to identify problems, improve processes and control maintenance and inventory costs. - Valid Manitoba driver's license. - Red Seal, journeyperson certification or equivalent mechanical experience is an asset. - Welding, OBD2 diagnostics, small engines, generators, pumps, construction equipment or power tools experience is an asset.
