Job Description

Be Part of the Work Behind the Discovery

Magna Mining is looking for a Core Technician to join our team and support exploration activities across our Sudbury properties.

This is a hands-on role responsible for the handling, sampling, organization, and tracking of drill core — helping ensure the geological information we collect is accurate, organized, and ready for the next step.

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organized, safety-minded, and comfortable with a role that keeps you active and involved throughout the day.

All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty and integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Collect drill core from site locations and safely transport it to the core facility.
- Load, organize, and store core according to established handling procedures.




- Perform core sampling in accordance with sampling protocols and quality control standards.
- Maintain accurate core labelling, tracking, storage, and inventory.
- Coordinate and dispatch core shipments to laboratories.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Support the Exploration team with material handling and other operational tasks.
- Keep the core shack and yard clean, organized, stocked, and safe.
- Ensure drill crews have adequate core boxes and required materials.
- Coordinate and communicate applicable site safety procedures with core shack personnel.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

- Have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Bring at least 1 year of industry experience.
- Are comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Have strong organization and time management skills.
- Communicate well and work effectively as part of a team.
- Are comfortable managing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Can prioritize your work and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence.
