What You’ll DoReporting to the Administrator, the Recreation and Leisure Manager is responsible for managing age‑appropriate recreation, leisure, restorative and education programs for the residents of LTC. These programs are responsive to the abilities, strengths, needs, interests, and former lifestyles of the residents. The Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations of the department through supervision of staff, budgeting and purchasing and coordination of volunteers. The Manager is also responsible for the restorative care program for the residents of the Home, including coordinating and collaborating with specialized services such as mobility vendors and therapists.What We’re Looking ForEducation & ExperienceThree‑year post‑secondary diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies or equivalentThree years of previous experience in a long‑term care settingPrevious supervisory experienceSkills & AbilitiesAbility to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problemsAbility to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policiesAbility to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goalsDemonstrated time‑management skillEffective leadership skills, with a solid focus on mentoring and motivation of employeesExperience with budget preparation and managementSound analytical thinking, planning,
