Position:Underwriting Co‑op, Property & Casualty (2026 Fall – Toronto, 8 months)Location:Toronto, ONDuration:8 monthsStart date:September 8, 2026Number of positions:1Application deadline:May 27, 2026Position OverviewWorking within the Facultative Underwriting team, you’ll work closely with other underwriters within their respective departments and collaborate with key individuals across the organization at our Toronto office.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist underwriters in analyzing client submissions and underwriting functions.Analyze inspection and loss control reports.Map out property and auto fleet schedules for rating purposes.Prepare reports in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint formats.Review facultative policy documents and wordings.Request account information and follow up for missing details.Participate in luncheons with facultative underwriters and clients.Conduct research on client events and promotional materials/products.Assist department underwriters and managers as required.QualificationsCurrently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Commerce or equivalent, with a focus on insurance and strong academic standing preferred.Excellent communication skills – spoken and written,



formal and informal presentation.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Mathematical aptitude.Solid organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail/accuracy in a rapid‑paced environment, especially for data entry.Ability to multi‑task and effectively self‑manage multiple priorities and projects of varying significance.Capable of working independently and as part of a larger team.Demonstrates leadership qualities – clear‑thinking, curiosity, integrity, and drive.Preference for candidates with relevant work experience, having completed at least one placement (or approximately four months of in‑field experience).Note: This opportunity is open to current students who will return to in‑class studies after the work term and to recent graduates who earned their degree within the past year.BenefitsSalary range: $850 to $1,300 per week, plus vacation pay.
