Title:BuyerLocation:Guelph, Ontario, CanadaEmployment Type:Full-time, In-OfficeStatus:1 Open PositionAbout the RoleReporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing direct and indirect materials to support production schedules and inventory targets. The role optimizes cost, quality, and delivery times through data analysis, vendor negotiation, and strategic planning. The Buyer collaborates with production, logistics, and accounting teams, maintains strong supplier relationships, and makes recommendations for process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Supplier Management:Communicating, negotiating, and managing relationships with our vendors.Managing all aspects of purchasing from requisition to delivery for direct and indirect materials.Issuing purchase orders, setting delivery schedules, monitoring outstanding orders, and expediting when necessary.Coordinating returns, refunds, and warranty issues for non-conforming materials.Source new suppliers and parts for new product development, manage part obsolescence and launches of new products.Evaluating supplier performance, maintaining vendor scorecards, and arranging audits.Process Optimization & ERP Management:Supporting ERP system improvements through testing, documentation, and implementation.Maintaining accurate purchasing parameters and supplier data in the business system.Analyzing material requirements to meet production schedules and inventory targets.Tracking and reporting monthly cost savings.Risk Management & Compliance:Assessing global supply chain risks and communicating updates to stakeholders.Working with internal stakeholders to implement risk management strategies for demand, supply,



and business continuity.Maintaining SDS sheets as required by Health and Safety Policy.Collaboration & Reporting:Providing procurement expertise and training to team members as requested.Participating in material review boards and managing RMA/world warranty issues with suppliers.Preparing forecasts for suppliers and periodic reports for management.What We’re Looking ForRequired:Post-Secondary Education (Materials Management, Supply Chain, or Business Administration preferred).Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a production environment.Solid negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.The ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve conflicts.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.Must be open and available for occasional overseas travel.Nice to Have:Mandarin speaking.Experience in electronics industry purchasing.Familiarity with VMI programs, international purchasing, and freight coordination.Knowledge of import/export documentation and Incoterms.Ability to read and comprehend CAD technical drawings.What We OfferCompensation ranges from $70,000 to $85,000, depending on experience.Extended medical benefits and insurance.RRSP program.Frequent company-sponsored events.Birthdays off.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Join a team that values innovation, integrity, and sustainability.Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes.
