Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both commercial and residential electrical work, demonstrating proficiency in various electrical systems and components. This role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and has experience with low voltage systems, and high voltage installations.

The Journeyperson

Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues
Conduct renovations and upgrades to existing electrical systems as required
Collaborate with construction teams in office to ensure timely completion of projects
Ensure compliance with NEC standards and local building codes during all electrical installations




Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become problematic
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols

Qualifications
Proven experience as an electrician
Solid understanding of electrical theory, circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques
Familiarity with low voltage and high voltage systems
Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment effectively
Knowledge of CEC regulations and safety standards related to electrical work
Construction site experience preferred; maintenance person experience is a plus
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
