Overview:

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.

Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with daily living tasks as well as accessing their community and connecting with peers
Be a role model and help guide problem solving and conflict resolution
Maintain a clean and protected environment
Follow support plans and instructions provided by healthcare specialists and provide support at medical appointments
Monitor, report, and document progress towards goals and any changes
Assist in coordinating social gatherings and planned group activities

Skills:
Experience in human services, specifically disability support is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration, positive behaviour support, and person centered care is an asset




Knowledge of the local community is an asset
Willing to learn and grow in skills and knowledge

Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Additional post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
Valid Canadian Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle is required.
Valid Standard / Intermediate First Aid Certificate is required
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Availability for shift work.
No previous experience necessary, willing to train the right candidate for this role.
