We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Full time Cashier to join our team in a busy Asian supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service, and supporting daily front-end operations.
Knowledge of Chinese is considered an asset, as it may assist in communicating with some customers and supporting POS product identification; however, it is not a requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately scan and process customer purchases using the POS system
Handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment methods responsibly
Ensure correct pricing, product identification, and receipt issuance
Provide friendly and professional customer service
Assist customers with general inquiries
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
Follow store policies, cash-handling procedures, and safety guidelines
Support other front-end duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (training provided)
Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
Good customer service and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced retail workplace
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $16.75 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 48.0 per week
