Edmonton Islamic Academy is a growing and vibrant school

currently seeking qualified and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to join

our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity

for adaptable, adaptable educators who are passionate about supporting student

learning across a variety of grade levels and subject areas.

Key

Responsibilities
- Assume full classroom responsibilities in the

absence of the homeroom or subject teacher
Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure continuity

of student learning
Provide academic support and effective classroom

supervision throughout the school day
Communicate and collaborate with teachers,

administration, and students
Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and productive

classroom workplace
Uphold confidentiality of student and staff

information
Follow and support all school policies and

procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned by the





classroom teacher or administration

Qualifications

& Requirements
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility

for certification)
Robust classroom management and organizational

skills
Ability to effectively deliver pre-planned lessons

across grade levels and subject areas
Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond positively

to changing assignments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful

learning environment
Respect for Islamic faith and culture, and

willingness to support a faith-based school environment
