Cooper Tree Services is looking for a reliable, hardworking Tree Service Ground Worker / Arborist Assistant for casual, on-call work in the Ottawa area.

This is a physically demanding outdoor position. You will work directly with the tree climber and ground crew on tree removal, trimming and cleanup jobs. Hours will vary depending on scheduled work and weather.

Duties
Drag and move brush and tree limbs
Move and stack logs
Run ropes and assist the tree climber
Feed and operate a wood chipper
Operate a chainsaw
Load and unload equipment
Clean up job sites
Assist with tree removal and trimming operations
Follow all safety instructions and procedures

Requirements
Must have your own reliable vehicle
Must be physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor work




Must be dependable and punctual
Must be comfortable working around chainsaws, chippers and tree-service equipment
Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
Previous tree service, landscaping, construction or outdoor labour experience is an asset
Chainsaw or chipper experience is an asset

Approximately 10–30 hours per week, depending on available work and weather
