Can-Traffic is seeking a Journeyman Electrician, preferably with Traffic Signal Technician experience, to join our Airdrie Maintenance team.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of traffic signals, street lighting, roadway electrical systems, and other municipal infrastructure. This is a hands-on field position that requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, a safety-focused approach, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around live traffic. The role includes travel to municipalities outside the Calgary area, typically on 1–3 day assignments, as well as occasional night shifts, weekend work, and emergency call-outs as required.

What You Will Do Every Day
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signals and roadway lighting systems
Troubleshoot traffic signal cabinets, controllers, detection equipment, and electrical systems




Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and emergency service
Support municipal projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
Work safely around live traffic and in a variety of field conditions
Complete service reports, documentation, and asset tracking
Work independently and as part of a crew to safely complete daily work
Travel to municipalities outside the Calgary area, typically on 1–3 day assignments
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required
Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Traffic signal and/or street lighting experience preferred
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I or II certification preferred
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory driving record

Pay: $38.04-$44.04 per hour
