Scholars Education Oakville is looking for a knowledgeable and engaging high school math tutor who is confident teaching Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U).

We are looking for someone who can do more than simply work through answers. Our tutors should be able to explain challenging concepts in different ways, identify where a student is getting stuck, and help students build the understanding and confidence needed to work independently.

Responsibilities
Provide individualized support in Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors
Support students with topics including limits, derivatives, optimization, rates of change, vectors, lines and planes
Help students prepare for tests, assignments and exams
Break down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps
Adapt explanations based on each student's learning needs
Follow students' individualized programs and school curriculum
Provide brief session notes to document student progress
Maintain a positive, skilled and encouraging learning workplace

Qualifications




Strong knowledge of Ontario Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
Currently studying or completed a university/college program with a robust mathematics component
Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset
Comfortable supporting senior high school students at the university-preparation level
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain math clearly
Reliable, organized and comfortable working independently with students

Position Details
Part-time
In-person at Scholars Education Oakville
After-school/evening and/or Saturday availability
Consistent weekly availability is preferred

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys math and can help a student understand not just how to solve a problem, but why the math works. Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
