We are looking for a full time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team! As a small clinic specializing in Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Radiology and Cardiology we are looking to add a adaptable self starter to our team.
The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a veterinary TA role. Cross training in TA and reception is considered an asset.
Petderm offers fixed hours from Monday-Thursday and we are closed on Friday and weekends. We offer our employees benefits, paid vacation time, scrub allowance and discounted pet food and medications.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary/technician assistant (TA) required
Completion of a veterinary technician assistant or veterinary office assistant program or certificate considered an asset
About the Role
Some insight to the multi specialty float TA role and responsibilities:
Animal restraint for blood draws, injections, IV catheters, cytology, and appointments
Patient care and husbandry for hospitalized patients
Performing medicated baths,
nail trims and phovia treatments
Assisting in all procedures, ultrasounds, echocardiograms and anesthesia
Assisting with specialized diagnostics and labwork, setting up equipment
General upkeep and cleaning/restocking of clinic
Sterilizing instruments, cleaning the treatment area and medical equipment
Administrative support for services including but not limited to gathering medical records, uploading intake forms, preparing consent paperwork and Covet
Opening and Closing duties for the clinic
Cross-training for reception (Appointment reminders, email inbox, overflow call volume)
