Duties
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and ensuring proper adhesion for fireproofing materials
Apply fireproofing coatings or spray-applied fire-resistant materials to structural elements such as steel beams, columns, and walls
Use hand tools and equipment effectively to cut, shape, and install fireproofing materials with precision
Read and interpret construction blueprints to determine application areas and specifications
Perform caulking around joints and seams to enhance fire resistance and prevent leaks or gaps
Maintain a clean work area by organizing tools, disposing of debris, and adhering to safety protocols
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met and document progress accordingly
Experience
Prior construction experience with a focus on fireproofing or related trades preferred
Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, trowels, brushes, and spray equipment
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for exact application
Knowledge of drywall installation or finishing is a plus but not required
Familiarity with safety procedures related to working at heights, handling chemicals, and operating power tools
