Java + AI Engineer

1-Year Term Contract

This is a 1-year term employment prospect. The successful candidate will be hired as an employee for a fixed 12-month term, with salary, benefits and vacation, rather than as an hourly independent contractor.

We are looking for an experienced Java + AI Engineer to design and build scalable, production-grade applications integrating GenAI capabilities.

Target range $120K to $130K

Required Skills
Solid proficiency in Java (mandatory)
Hands-on experience with LLMs
Experience building AI-enabled applications and services in Java
Advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) techniques, including hybrid search and multi-vector retrieval
Multi-agent systems
Memory systems (long-term/short-term memory, persistence, conversational checkpoints)




API and microservices integration experience

Preferred Skills
Spring Boot and Java microservices
Spring AI, LangChain4j, or similar Java AI frameworks
NLP experience
Vector databases and embedding-based search
Agentic AI design & orchestration (multi-step reasoning agents, tool-calling agents, planner–executor patterns)
Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

Summary

Strong Java capability is critical. The role focuses on building intelligent, agent-driven GenAI systems and integrating up-to-date LLM, RAG and agentic AI capabilities into scalable Java applications and services.
