With a steadfast commitment to research excellence, we empower a diverse community of researchers, innovators, and thought leaders, fostering meaningful contributions within our institution and the wider community.About the Grant Coordinator RoleReporting to the Senior Research Grants Specialist, the Grant Coordinator supports a wide range of pre-award applied research and innovation activities. The incumbent develops and maintains efficient internal processes that facilitate high-quality grant proposal submissions and effective coordination between the institution, partners, and funders. Responsibilities include coordinating, tracking, and monitoring all pre‑award grant activities, developing templates and guidance materials, supporting internal review committees, coordinating approvals for grant submissions, collecting and managing data related to grant activity, and contributing to data management and record keeping.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop a systematic grant review & submission process for various grant programs.Create templates for salary and cost information, program descriptions, and contact information commonly used for grants.Administer internal grant review committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and communication.Manage the internal notice of intent to apply process and ensure compliance with institutional timelines and requirements.Create and manage internal files and records for each submission.Manage internal approval workflows to ensure alignment with grant deadlines.Coordinate with post‑award team to ensure smooth transition when funding is awarded.Develop templates, checklists,
and guidance documents for proposal preparation.Maintain internal databases/portals for upcoming grant deadlines.Monitor and determine ongoing eligibility of faculty members for various grant opportunities.Research and recommend enhanced administrative management procedures and policies and keep current with best practices in grant management.Assist with routing agreements to ORI staff, industry partners, and the institution’s legal team.Work with project stakeholders, including faculty members and external partners, to identify research funding opportunities.Provide expert advice to develop and complete research funding proposals.Assist in drafting and reviewing research proposals and budgets and executing research plans.Maintain relationships with existing and prospective research partners, including industry, community, and academic organizations.Coordinate the external funding application system; update relevant guidelines and processes as needed.Assist in the full range of activities required to prepare and submit grant proposals to foundation, governmental, and corporate sources.Assist with researching foundations and corporations to evaluate potential funding opportunities.Assist with marketing initiatives with respect to current grant opportunities.ReportingMaintain a stable reporting effort, monitoring missing or erroneous data, tracking its sources, and working with operations and management to resolve or minimize immediate and future issues.Act as a key resource and lead metrics collection, tracking, and reporting of grant application deliverables and activities for foundation/corporate/governmental donors and Humber policies and procedures.Collect and report on departmental deliverables and metrics for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and skilled organizations.Provide regular updates and reports on grant application results to ORI staff and leadership.Track submissions and confirmations.About YouEducation: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.Experience/Skills:Experience with Tri‑Council and/or foundation research grants.Excellent computer software skills (especially MS Office and data analysis programs).Excellent written and oral communication skills,
