Department/Unit/Program Description
Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is an active, acute-care community hospital located in the heart of the City of Kawartha Lakes. Among our acute and continuing care services, our team cares for 45,000 patients per year in the 24/7/365 emergency department, provides orthopedics and ophthalmology, operates a dialysis unit, and is renowned for its mental health programs and restorative seniors care. We produce food under protected, sanitary conditions and foster a multidisciplinary approach with all departments in the best interest of patient care.

Position Summary




Nutrition Services is currently looking for a Temporary Part-Time Food Production Assistant to join their team.

Ending on or Before Date
March 31, 2027

Essential Qualifications

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

Certificate of Qualification as a Cook or an equivalent combination of two years recent experience doing large quantity food cooking and willingness to be Certified

Current Food Handlers Training & Certification and must maintain certification

Demonstrated ability to adjust recipes and follow directions

Demonstrated knowledge of Portion Control, W.H.M.I.S.–department specific, H.A.C.C.P. (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point)

Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per Physical Demands Analysis

Hours of Work
Must be available to work eight (8) and four (4) hour shifts (days /evenings), including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
