Job Overview
Velocity Geomatics Inc. offers a broad scope of surveying, environmental, and civil engineering services from our offices across Alberta. We are looking to enhance our team by adding a diversified Crew Chief, based in Grande Prairie. We take great pride in helping all our employees improve their skills and learn recent things, helping you succeed as you grow your career and strengthen our team.

We are looking for a responsible, motivated surveyor to provide support throughout a project's lifecycle, including maintaining record documents, coordinating field and office tasks, and collaborating with the project manager and client. Please note the majority of field work will be in the Alberta region.

Key Responsibilities

Surveying: Civil, construction, oil & gas surveys (pipelines, wellsites, pile layouts, roadways)





Survey Equipment: Trimble GPS, Topcon GPS, robotic total stations, digital levels

Software (an asset): AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsurvey, Trimble Business Center, Topcon Tools, 3D machine control software

Drone Operations: RTK drone flights, UAV surveying, basic/advanced pilot certificate

Microsoft 365: Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

Data Collection & Interpretation: Topographic surveys, as-built surveys, construction layouts

Machine Control Setup: 3D machine control systems (Topcon, Trimble)

Reading and interpreting civil design plans

Health and safety compliance

Client relationship management

Remote work adaptability (up to 14 days)

Precision and attention to detail

Strong written and oral communication

Requirements

College diploma or bachelor's degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering, or several years of relevant industry experience

Valid Class 5 driver's license

Drone pilot certification (asset)
