Kickstart your career in archival studies with Bruce County’s Archives Cataloguer Intern position. This five-month role involves arranging, digitizing, and maintaining archival records.
As an Intern, you will report to the Archivist and be responsible for categorizing archival artifacts while ensuring the accuracy of the archival database. A two-year diploma in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Essential skills include knowledge of archival practices, proficiency in database management, and robust independent work capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Arrange archival artifacts for effective retrieval
• Accurately maintain the Museum’s archival database
• Digitize select records for public access
• Conduct cleaning and minor conservation of artifacts
• Work closely with the Archivist on special archival projects
Requirements:
• Two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with archival principles and methods
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Computer proficiency in relevant software
• Must qualify for Young Canada Works
