About the Role Our client, a highly regarded specialty coffee shop in Kimberley , is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead their coffee bar operations. This role requires an individual with expert knowledge of coffee preparation, latte art, and customer service, who can also mentor and train junior baristas. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of coffee quality, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and contributing to the shop's reputation as a premier destination for coffee enthusiasts in the Northern Cape . The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of coffee origins, roasting profiles, and brewing techniques.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a wide range of espresso-based beverages and other coffee drinks with precision and artistry, including latte art .
Manage daily coffee bar operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and productive workflow.
Train and mentor junior baristas on coffee knowledge, brewing techniques, and customer service standards.
Maintain inventory of coffee beans, milk, and other bar supplies,



placing orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
Engage with customers, provide recommendations, and ensure a welcoming and positive experience for all patrons.
Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Barista, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
Demonstrated expertise in espresso machine operation , grinding, dosing, tamping, and milk steaming.
Proficiency in latte art and various brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, Aeropress).
Strong understanding of coffee bean origins, flavor profiles, and roasting processes.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
