This is a casual position. It is not a full time or part time position.Under the supervision of a supervisor, you will be responsible to use strong customer service, teamwork, and organizational skills to prepare, handle, portion and package food, beverages, assemble trays. Provide patient meal delivery and pick up. Order and put away unit supplies. Safely operate and clean industrial food service equipment, adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines. Complete other food service duties as assigned.Our environment is fast paced and requires speed and accuracy; must be able to work under pressure in high stress situations; demonstrate critical thinking skills; communicates effectively in English with customers, patients, co-workers, and other departments; work as an effective, professional team member with a focus on exceptional patient and family centered care. Perform basic math functions to measure out food portions.In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs.This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.




Additional Required Qualifications Food service experience.Food Safe Certificate or equivalent.Customer service experience.Experience with Industrial Food Service Equipment.Experience in operating a computer (Microsoft Office programs or other computer programs).Recent valid Criminal Record Check (produced within past 90 days).Able to provide two work-related references from direct report or manager.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in inventory management; receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates & minimizing waste, utilizing “First in- First Out”.Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.WHIMIS training.
