Contract: 6 Months

The primary focus for the Buyer position is to ensure on-time delivery of parts to the required date of the Operation teams.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and expedite part shortages

Maintain accuracy of delivery information in ERP

Ensure delivery commitments are received from suppliers and entered in ERP

Address assembly emergencies and work with suppliers to expedite rush requirements

Primary contact for supplier purchase order issues, coordinate with the appropriate departments to drive action

Proactively communicate updates for pacing shortages to the operation

Action any engineering change orders, NC’s or rework as required

Item Data – ensure clean inputs into ERP

Prepare documentation and coordinate return of goods as requiredCommunicate and elevate supplier issues to the appropriate authorities (based on escalation process)

Identify opportunities for cost reduction; identify risks and opportunities for supplier cost reductions

Communicate daily demand to suppliers

Support target costing for new products as required

Manage cancellation exception messages

Support product development engineering purchasing as required

Utilize cost models and costing forms supplied by Sourcing Managers,



interface with Sourcing Managers on unique items as necessary to ensure optimal cost targets are achieved

Participate in continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

Post secondary education preferred

2-4 years of purchasing experience

Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components is an asset

Ability to understand mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics preferred

General knowledge regarding supplier agreements and intellectual property

Proficient in computer applications (ERP, MS Office) and able to conduct data analysis

Team player in a fast paced environment

Effective time management and organizational skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong problem solving skills

Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000
