In this influential role, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, you will manage the People and Culture Legal Division, offering essential legal guidance across employment, privacy, and human rights matters. You may also act as the City’s representative in various litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic advice on complex labour and employment issues
• Represent the City in various legal proceedings
• Prepare and advise on sector-specific legal documentation
• Conduct thorough research and prepare summaries for management
• Mentor staff to build strong working relationships

Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) needed
• Extensive recent experience in employment and labour law
• Good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
• Valid Driver’s Licence for British Columbia
• Proven skills in negotiation and conflict resolution
