At Boundary Equipment, welding is one partof a much bigger rebuild. We are looking for a Welder to join our Edmonton shopand work on large, high-value components used in some of the toughest miningconditions in the world—equipment where quality, reliability, and attention todetail matter.

This is not a production welding role.You’ll contribute to complete, engineering-led rebuilds and work alongsideexperienced tradespeople, inspectors, machinists, and engineers to returncritical mining equipment to reliable operating condition.

We welcome applications from both Journeyperson Welders and registered welding apprentices at any level. Whether you are an experienced welder or developing your trade, we are looking for someone with strong practical ability, a dependable work ethic, and a willingness to learn and contribute to every stage of the rebuild process.

Key Responsibilities

Journeyperson Welder certification is preferred; registered welding apprentices at any level are encouraged to apply.

Current CWB tickets for FCAW and SMAW in the flat and horizontal positions are preferred. Apprentices who do not yet hold all required tickets may still be considered based on their training, practical experience, and performance during a welding assessment.

Disassemble and assemblecomponents throughout the inspection and rebuild process.

Clean and pressure-wash partsand components before inspection and repair.

Prepare components forrebuilding by cutting, gauging, grinding, and cleaning parts.

Perform air arc gouging, plasmacutting, and torch work as required.

Prepare surfaces and paintcompleted parts and components.

Follow approved weldingprocedures, repair instructions, quality requirements, and productionstandards.

Complete required production,inspection, and quality documentation.

Maintain a clean, organizedand safe work area.

Support other stages of therebuild process and assist with additional shop duties as required.

What You Bring





Journeyperson Weldercertification is preferred; registered welding apprentices with relevantexperience will also be considered.

Experience repairing orrebuilding heavy equipment or industrial components is an asset.

Experience using weldingmachines, grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and air arc gouging equipment.

Ability to read and understandblueprints and technical drawings.

Robust mechanical aptitude,attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

A dependable, team-focusedapproach and commitment to quality.

Willingness to take on the fullscope of the work—not just welding.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in amanufacturing and repair shop specializing in mobile and stationary miningequipment components.

The role involves welding,grinding, painting, cleaning, pressure washing, and other hands‑on shop activities.

Standing for extended periodsand lifting up to 50 pounds are required.

Overtime may be available orrequired.

The shop is fast-paced andrequires close attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
