We’re growing and looking for a motivated, competitive and relationship-driven Insurance Sales Representative to join the McFarlane Insurance Agency team in Whitby.

This is a sales-focused role for someone who enjoys talking to people, building relationships, following up, creating opportunities and asking for the business.

You’ll work with both existing clients and new prospects to identify insurance needs and provide solutions across auto, home, life and other insurance products.

What you’ll do:

Proactively connect with existing clients and prospective customers by phone, email and in person

Generate new business through outbound calling, referrals, networking and lead follow-up

Conduct insurance needs conversations and identify opportunities across multiple product lines

Quote and sell auto, home and other insurance products

Identify, discuss and sell life insurance solutions where appropriately licensed

Create life insurance opportunities across the existing client base

Follow up consistently on quotes and sales opportunitiesBuild strong, long-term client relationships

Maintain accurate documentation and client records

Meet individual sales, activity and production goals

Participate in regular coaching, training and team accountability meetings

Deliver an exceptional client experience from first conversation through policy issuance

Who we’re looking for:
You may already have insurance experience, or you may be a strong salesperson ready to build a career in insurance.

Insurance experience is an asset, but sales ability, drive, accountability and willingness to become fully licensed matter more.

Licensing
We are looking for candidates who are either currently licensed in Ontario insurance or willing to obtain the required licences.

Existing OTL, RIBO and/or LLQP licensing is an asset, but not mandatory for the right candidate.

Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing and able to complete the required licensing as a condition of employment and continued employment in the role.

Final employment is subject to applicable licensing requirements, background screening and Desjardins approval.

Compensation & opportunity

Base salary starting at $50,000

Higher starting compensation may be considered based on relevant licensing, insurance experience and demonstrated sales performance
