We are currently seeking a Accountant to join our team. This position is a hybrid role.

Reports to: Corporate Controller

Role purpose: As a member of the Finance team, the Accountant is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable maintenance, processing and payment, preparation and posting of journal entries and bank reconciliations.

Key accountabilities
Completion of day-to-day accounts payable functions, including:
recording of invoices in the accounting system
preparation of accounts payable subledgers
posting of payments
sort, code and match invoices
correspondence with vendors
Processing and verification of employee expense reports




Provide supporting documentation for annual audit
Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and made on time
Preparation and posting of journal entries as required from time to time
Completion of month end intercompany, bank and credit card reconciliations
Month, quarter and year end working paper preparation

Experience and qualifications
Strong attention to detail
Proven organizational skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and procedures
Experience in Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Sage, Excellent Plains and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is not required but would be considered an asset
Knowledge of the accounts payable function and general accounting procedures
Diploma or degree in accounting or another related subject
1 to 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role would be considered an asset but not required

Compensation and advantages
Base salary: $40,000 - $60,000
