About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized, andcollaborative professional to join our team. This position will supportnational initiatives designed to strengthen the settlement sector's capacity toeffectively respond to gender-based violence (GBV) experienced by newcomers andsupport the ongoing work of the National GBV Strategy for Agencies ServingImmigrants.
Working closely with settlement organizations, anti-violencepartners, and sector stakeholders across Canada, this position will support theexpansion of a national GBV Champion Network, facilitate sector-wide learningopportunities including our Champion Network, Webinars and oversee the deliveryand sustainability of the Bridges to Safety:
Building the Capacity of theSettlement Sector to Respond to Gender-Based Violence online training program.This role outside of supporting current activities and updates around thecurrent model and course and finding more sustainable avenues for this work tocontinue its impact.
The successful candidate will contribute to strengtheningcoordinated, effective, and equitable settlement supports for newcomers,including equity-deserving groups and Francophone minority communities.
In this role, you will:
Facilitatecommunication with partners, consultants, participants, and stakeholders.
Sharepractical tools, resources, communications materials, and learning supportwith network members.
Designall presentation materials involved for the project including resources,slide decks for virtual and in person presentations, and professionalcommunications.
Strengthenand expand the National GBV Staff Champion Network including designing,outreaching and co-facilitating regular virtual meetings.
Implementa train-the-trainer model that enables GBV Champions to independentlydeliver education and awareness activities within their organizations andcommunities.
Facilitateand design peer-led knowledge exchange opportunities that promotecollaboration and the sharing of best practices across the sector throughvirtual webinars and training sessions.
Buildand strengthen relationships with anti-violence organizations, settlementagencies, and other key stakeholders.
Supportthe outreach, delivery and ongoing maintenance of the nationallyaccessible Bridges to Safety online training program in both French andEnglish.
Supportthe transition of the Bridges to Safety Course to a fully self-directedand self-paced learning platform including registration and coursecompletion processes.
Maintaindetailed records, databases, evaluations, and project documentations andresources for reporting purposes.
Performsother related duties as assigned.
Education and Skills Qualifications:
Demonstratedknowledge of gender-based violence, trauma- and violence-informedapproaches,
and survivor-centered practices.
Experienceworking in the settlement sector and/or the gender-based violence sectoris considered a strong asset.
Bilingualismwritten and verbal (English and French) is considered a strong asset asthis is a bilingual project.
Experiencecreating materials for and facilitating virtual training, workshops, oreducational programming.
Experiencewith projects involving multiple stakeholders and partners.
Knowledgeof equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-oppressive practice, andintersectionality.
Excellentfacilitation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strongorganizational, planning, and project administration skills.
Intermediateskills to advanced Microsoft Office, CANVA, and ZOOM. ( WIX is a strongasset)
Abilityto work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.
Post-secondaryeducation in social work, adult education, gender studies, communitydevelopment, sociology, public administration, or a related field is anasset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also beconsidered.
