Team: Financial Risk function within MUFG Canada Risk Management, reporting to the Financial Risk Vice President
Mission: To produce, analyze, govern, and continuously enhance liquidity, market, credit, and interest rate risk in the banking book reporting for MUFG Canada.
Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, data validation, reconciliations, financial modelling, VBA/macros), OVS extracts, Bloomberg, internal risk files, Treasury reports, Middle Office data, Finance inputs, facility and commitment data, exposure reports, locally maintained EUC tools, AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools, SharePoint sites
What You’ll Actually Do Risk Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and maintain recurring Financial Risk reports covering liquidity risk, market risk, credit risk, and IRRBB, including early warning indicators, stress testing, VaR, ECL, and risk appetite metrics.




Data Validation: Compile and validate source data from various internal and external systems like OVS extracts, Bloomberg, and internal risk files to support independent review of risk metrics.
Governance Support: Assist in preparing materials for IRC, ECC, Liquidity Risk, and Market Risk governance forums by compiling metrics, drafting commentary, and ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Exception Management: Perform review and challenge of report outputs, investigate material movements or exceptions, document rationale, and ...
Stakeholder Coordination: coordinate with Treasury, Middle Office, Finance, Operations, business lines, and regional risk teams to obtain data, validate assumptions, clarify methodology, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
The Must-Haves Background: University degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, business, risk management, data analytics, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in banking, risk management, treasury, finance, audit, data analytics, or related financial services; preferred experience in a second line risk management function.
Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel capability (Power Query, VBA); strong knowledge of liquidity risk metrics and reporting; strong knowledge of market risk metrics and analytics; strong knowledge of credit risk and IFRS 9 ECL analytics; advanced data analytics capability.
Bonus: Post‑graduate education or progress toward a professional designation (e.g., FRM, CFA, CPA, MBA, data analytics certification, AI-related training); additional training in liquidity risk, market risk, credit risk, IFRS 9, regulatory reporting, or responsible AI use.
