Venor is proud to partner with Natural Forces in their search for an Accountant to join their team in Halifax, NS. Natural Forces is a leading Canadian clean energy developer that delivers projects in partnership with Indigenous Communities and Nations, CEDCs, Municipalities and other local communities across Canada, Ireland and France. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month, quarter, and year-end close processes, and ensuring strong internal controls across the organization. This position calls for solid technical accounting knowledge paired with a collaborative mindset, as you'll work closely with colleagues across the broader organization to help drive financial excellence and support the continued growth and success of Natural Forces. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Operations: Actively engage in daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month, quarter and year end close process, accruals and variance analysis following accounting processes.
Reporting: Prepare journal entries,



reconciliations and financial reports in accordance with accounting principles. Prepare sales tax filings in accordance with statutory guidelines.
Cash Flow: Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts.
Transactions: Maintain general ledgers and ensure accuracy of financial transaction reports.
Compliance: Ensuring internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory requirements are followed.
Accounting Systems and Processes: Demonstrate best practices through maintaining and improving Sage Intacct controls, processes and reporting to mitigate errors.
Qualifications & Skills: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-company or multi-entity financial reporting environment. CPA designation, or active enrollment in the CPA program, is considered an asset. Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial reporting purposes.
Technical Skills Accounting Principles: Deep knowledge of best practices and demonstrated ability to apply principles to daily operations. Analytical Thinking: Ability to breakdown complex information into smaller,



more manageable parts to understand them better and identify issues, relationships and potential solutions. Attention to Detail: Thorough and meticulous in completing work, ensuring accuracy and preventing errors. Technology: Demonstrate comprehension of accounting systems and expertise in Excel or similar technologies.
Core Competencies Accountability: Strong commitment to positive actions and behaviours, demonstrating ownership of responsibilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts to a diverse group of stakeholders, investors and project teams.

Ethical Conduct: High ethical standards and integrity when dealing with employee matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
