**Job Title: Assembler – Power Distribution Units**
**Job Description**
Join a specialized team assembling high‑efficiency transformer and power distribution units from the ground up.

In this role, you use hand and power tools, electrical schematics, and quality testing procedures to build complete distribution power units for a major project.

You contribute to both mechanical assembly and electrical wiring, ensuring each unit is built safely, accurately, and efficiently.
**Responsibilities**
Assemble power distribution units from scratch, including metal enclosures that resemble large multi-door lockers.

Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and air-compressed power tools to perform mechanical assembly tasks.

Read and interpret electrical schematics to perform accurate electrical wiring of panels and components.

Install wired panels and components into the outer shell of the distribution unit in accordance with specifications and safety standards.

Conduct testing of completed power distribution units to verify proper operation and quality before release.

Work closely with a designated training buddy to learn and follow established procedures for mechanical assembly and wiring.

Participate in team-based assembly activities, collaborating with colleagues and working comfortably in close quarters.

Perform general duties as required, including cleaning work areas, building skids, and supporting project-related tasks.

Follow all safety guidelines, maintain organized workstations, and handle materials and tools responsibly.

Support the timely delivery of approximately 40 distribution power units over the project period by meeting productivity and quality expectations.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 2+ years of experience performing electrical wiring and electrical assembly.

Minimum 2+ years of experience reading and working from electrical schematics.

Minimum 1+ years of experience in mechanical assembly using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and air-compressed tools.

Ability to accurately interpret and apply electrical schematics to real-world assembly and wiring tasks.

Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components in an assembly environment.

Capability to follow established procedures and quality standards while working efficiently to meet project timelines.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience working on customized or project-based electrical and mechanical assemblies.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to building protected, reliable power distribution equipment.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and trainers.

Willingness to perform general labor tasks such as cleaning, organizing materials, and building skids.

Adaptability to learn new products and procedures through on-the-job training with an experienced buddy.

Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance to support project delivery requirements.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a small warehouse rented specifically for the power distribution project, providing a focused and organized setting.

All materials are supplied and arranged to make assembly work quick and efficient.

You work in teams and in close quarters, so collaboration and comfort with a shared workspace are important.

The facility has good lighting and can be a bit dusty at times.

The position follows weekday shifts, with a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and an afternoon shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday to Friday.

New hires train on the day shift for several weeks before transitioning to afternoons, and an additional premium is offered for afternoon work.

Dress is typical for a warehouse and assembly environment, with appropriate workwear to support safety and comfort.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Brampton,ON.
