**Electro-Mechanical Technician**
**Job Description**
The Electro-Mechanical Technician assembles, wires, tests, and troubleshoots control panels and related electrical systems based on schematics and work orders.

This role focuses on electrical panel work, PLC upgrades and basic modifications, and the installation, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic components.

The technician analyzes wiring blueprints, determines required materials, and executes work in a structured sequence to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality systems.
**Responsibilities**
Assemble electrical control panels from drawings, schematics, and work orders.

Install, wire, and test control panels to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.

Troubleshoot and repair control panels, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Run wire, install, and troubleshoot all aspects of electrical systems according to schematics and wiring diagrams.

Perform PLC upgrades, downloads, and basic modifications as required for system updates and improvements.

Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic components, including mounting hydraulic cylinders, making hydraulic hoses, replacing hydraulic pumps, and filling hydraulic oil.

Analyze work orders and wiring blueprints to determine required supplies, components, and the sequence of operations.

Work with various electrical and electronic components such as safety interlocks, ultrasonic sensors, photo-eyes, pressure transducers, solenoids, relays, limit switches, and motor controls.

Use hand tools and test equipment, including drills, screwdrivers, voltmeters, hammers, and wrenches, safely and effectively.

Collaborate with team members in the shop to complete projects on time and to quality standards.

Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical and hydraulic systems.
**Essential Skills**
At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with electrical control panels.

Proven experience with electrical wiring and repair on panels.

Strong ability to read and understand electrical circuit drawings and schematics.

Experience working with components such as safety interlocks, ultrasonic sensors, photo-eyes, pressure transducers, solenoids, relays, limit switches, and motor controls.

Proficiency in assembling panels and performing panel wiring.

Comfortable using hand tools and test equipment, including drills, screwdrivers, voltmeters, hammers, and wrenches.

Basic understanding of hydraulic systems or willingness to learn with provided training.

Ability to interpret work orders and wiring blueprints to plan materials and sequence of operations.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in a shop environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with PLC commissioning, including upgrades, downloads, and basic modifications, is an asset.





Previous working experience with hydraulic systems is an asset.

Ability to operate a forklift is an asset.

Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting issues or progress.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a shop environment, working closely with a team of approximately five people.

You will regularly work with electrical control panels, wiring, PLC equipment, hydraulic components, and a variety of hand tools and test instruments such as drills, screwdrivers, voltmeters, hammers, and wrenches.

The position follows a daytime shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The environment is hands-on and technical, with a focus on teamwork, safety, and efficient project completion.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Brampton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $54080.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Brampton,ON.
