**Job Title: Field Welder**
**Job Description**
The Field Welder performs welding repairs on recycling containers, recycling equipment, grates, railings, and related components at client sites.

Parts are manufactured in the shop based on the welder's descriptions and measurements, then picked up and installed on site.

This role focuses on accurately assessing repair needs, clearly communicating part requirements, and completing high-quality welding and repair work in the field.
**Responsibilities**
Perform welding repairs on recycling containers, recycling equipment, grates, railings, and related structures at various client locations.

Evaluate repair needs on site, identifying damage, required materials, and appropriate repair methods.

Use cutting torches and welding equipment to carry out a range of repair and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.

Operate various hand and power tools to support welding and repair activities.

Describe required parts to the shop using accurate measurements so that components can be manufactured to specification.

Pick up manufactured parts from the shop and install them correctly at client sites.

Read and interpret shop drawings to understand part specifications and installation requirements.

Travel to multiple locations throughout the day in a company vehicle to complete scheduled service work.

Prepare and submit clear and detailed service orders, documenting work performed and materials used.

Communicate effectively with clients on site, explaining repair work, timelines, and any follow-up requirements.

Adhere to safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of protective clothing and equipment.

Work overtime and participate in on-call rotations as required to respond to service needs.
**Essential Skills**
At least 1 year of experience in Arc/Stick welding (SMAW).

Proficiency in stick welding techniques for repair and maintenance work.

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings accurately.

Strong measurement skills and the ability to describe required parts clearly for shop fabrication.

Experience using cutting torches for metal cutting and repair tasks.

Competence in using a variety of hand and power tools in a field repair environment.

Clean driving record and ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the day in a company vehicle.

Excellent verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions and service order documentation.

Ability to work safely and effectively in outdoor environments and around garbage, recycling, and compost materials.

Reliability and willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call schedules as needed.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous experience in field service or mobile repair work.

Comfort working independently at client sites while maintaining professional conduct.

Strong attention to detail when assessing repairs and documenting service work.





Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively when traveling between multiple locations.

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build positive relationships during on-site visits.

Willingness to drive throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) on a regular basis.

**Work Environment**
This is a field-based role with a typical schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime and on-call work required based on service demands.

The welder drives a company vehicle to client sites across the GTA to repair garbage bins and related recycling equipment.

Work is performed outdoors and at various facilities in all weather conditions year-round.

The role requires wearing appropriate protective clothing and gear while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost materials, and following all safety protocols in potentially dirty and physically demanding environments.

This is a Permanent position based out of Brampton, ON.
**Pay and Perks**
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
