**Job Title: Aluminum Fabricator**
**Job Description**
As an Aluminum Fabricator, you will be responsible for creating and constructing patterns and guides to serve as templates for metal cutting.

You will assemble, fit, and weld metal sections and plates, installing fabricated components into final products.

This role requires proficiency in using a variety of light and heavy machinery to make precise cuts and assemble components into complete units.
**Responsibilities**
Create and construct patterns and guides as templates for metal cutting.

Operate light machinery, including brake presses, shears, cutting torches, and grinders.

Layout reference points and patterns on heavy metals according to templates and blueprints.

Assemble, fit, and weld metal sections and plates to create complete units or subunits.

Install fabricated components in the final product.

Preheat workpieces to render them malleable.

Monitor the quality of fabrication and production.

Set up and operate heavy machine tools such as radial drills, end mills, and edge planers.

Monitor materials usage and report any material issues.

Maintain a working knowledge of changes in fabricating compliance, practices, and techniques.

Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.

Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations, and participate in identifying hazards.

Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries to the supervisor promptly.

Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to assess materials needed and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal.

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Effectively and efficiently prioritize daily work.

Accurately complete work orders and time cards.

May be asked to cross train on other functions at the facility.
**Essential Skills**
5+ years of fabrication experience.

Red Seal certification.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints or fabrication drawings.

Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Skills in steel, flux core welding, flux core MIG, flux core welder, FCAW, SMAW, stick welding, stick flux, stick MIG welding.
CWB ticket certification.

Knowledge of mild steel fitting, blueprint reading, and grinding.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Forklift experience.

Experience in confined spaces.

Knowledge in class production.

Marine experience.

**Work Environment**
Work both indoors in confined spaces and outdoors, including some tasks 25 feet high.

You will work in the yard and use wire feed welding machines.

The dress code includes steel-toed safety boots, welding helmets, and safety glasses/goggles provided.

Candidates should have their own basic tools like chipping hammers.

The location is 11660 Mitchell Rd, Richmond, Canada, on Mitchell Island, with shift times from 7:30am to 4pm.

Overtime may be required, as well as travel to off-site locations.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
