The Food Production Worker supports daily manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently producing high-quality food products in accordance with company standards, food safety regulations, and Work

You will operate production equipment, handle food products, maintain strict sanitation standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across multiple production areas.
**Responsibilities**
Perform a variety of production tasks such as mixing, assembling, cooking, forming, packaging, labeling, and palletizing food products.

Work in one or more production areas, including preparation, cooking, forming, and packaging/boxing, with a strong likelihood of assignment to forming or boxing.

Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following all standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Follow production schedules, recipes, and work instructions to ensure consistent product quality and output.

Meet established productivity, quality, and yield targets while minimizing waste.

Comply with all food safety programs, including HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures.

Perform routine quality checks on products and materials and immediately report any deviations, defects, or concerns.

Maintain accurate and legible production, quality, and traceability records as required.

Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of ingredients, in-process materials, and finished products.

Follow all Work

SafeBC requirements and company health and safety policies at all times.

Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and correctly throughout the shift.

Identify and report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents immediately to the appropriate person.

Participate actively in safety training sessions and toolbox meetings.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, equipment, and tools in accordance with sanitation standards.

Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned, including equipment and production area wash-downs.

Support allergen control measures and help prevent cross-contamination by following established procedures.

Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and solve problems.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process enhancement.

Assist with training and onboarding of new employees as required, demonstrating proper procedures and safe work practices.
**Essential Skills**
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Robust attention to detail and a consistent commitment to product quality and food safety.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.

Basic math and record-keeping skills for completing production and quality documentation.

Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

Ability to lift approximately 25–50 pounds (with or without accommodation) and up to 30 pounds repeatedly during the shift.

Ability to work in a cooled or cold environment (around 4 degrees) as required.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently over the course of a shift.

Ability to work with chicken, beef, and pork products.

Ability to consistently wear required PPE for the entire shift.

Flexibility to work various shift times, including days, evenings, and weekends, based on operational needs.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.





Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments is considered an asset.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience in food manufacturing, food preparation, or kitchen prep environments.

Familiarity with HACCP principles and food safety programs.

Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.

Comfort working in temperature-controlled production areas with exposure to food ingredients and processing equipment.

Willingness to support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency initiatives.

Ability to adapt to different production areas such as prep, cooking, forming, and packaging/boxing as operational needs change.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility with approximately 38 staff, operating across multiple production areas including preparation, cooking, forming, and packaging/boxing.

Work is shift-based and may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with overtime possible depending on operational needs.

The first shift typically starts between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and runs for 8 hours, while the second shift typically starts between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and also runs for 8 hours.

Ideally, employees are available for both AM and PM shifts, and availability for Saturdays is preferred, although a single consistent shift may be considered for experienced candidates.

The environment includes exposure to food ingredients, temperature-controlled areas (around 4 degrees), and production equipment, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Personal protective equipment is mandatory; employees must provide steel-toe footwear, while other PPE is supplied. A locker is provided for personal belongings, and employees should bring a lock suitable for day use.

The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to GMP and food safety standards, creating a structured and safety-conscious workplace.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
