**Job Title: General Production Worker – Heavy General Labor**
**Job Description**
This role involves working at the start of a production line to handle pre-weighed ingredients, load mixers and hoppers, and perform heavy, repetitive tasks while standing for the entire shift.

You will work in a food manufacturing environment producing granola bars with nuts, following established procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices to keep the operation safe, clean, and efficient.
**Responsibilities**
Load pre-weighed materials into industrial mixers at the beginning of the production line.

Lift and carry containers weighing between 50–70 lbs, including frequent bending and heavy lifting throughout the shift.

Monitor the mixing process and ensure ingredients are properly combined according to production requirements.

Transfer mixed ingredients from the mixer into the hopper at the start of the production line.

Perform repetitive production and general labor tasks while standing for the entire 8-hour shift.

Work in either of two adjacent buildings and move between them as needed, including going outside mid-shift.

Support packing and packaging activities as required to maintain production flow.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and facility guidelines to maintain cleanliness and product safety.

Read and follow written instructions, labels, and production documentation in English.

Communicate clearly in English to coordinate with team members and report any issues.

Maintain a safe work area by following safety procedures and reporting hazards or equipment concerns.

Adapt to warm conditions during summer while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
**Essential Skills**
Ability to consistently lift and carry up to 50 lbs and handle containers weighing 50–70 lbs throughout the shift.

Comfort with heavy, repetitive tasks and standing for the entire 8-hour shift.

Experience working in a repetitive manufacturing or production environment.

General labor experience in packing and packaging operations.

Ability to read and write in English for instructions, labels, and basic documentation.

English communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members.

Willingness to move between two adjacent buildings and work wherever needed on site.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food or similar environment.

Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing or processing.

Mechanical aptitude or being mechanically inclined to understand basic production equipment.

Ability to work comfortably in a facility that produces products containing nuts and to do so without peanut allergies.

Comfort working in a warm environment during summer months while maintaining focus and productivity.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a food manufacturing facility that produces granola bars with nuts.

The plant is smaller in scale, clean, and characterized by the aroma of chocolate, caramel, and nuts.

All Good Manufacturing Practices must be strictly followed to ensure food safety and cleanliness.

Candidates must be able to work safely around nut-containing products and cannot have peanut allergies.

The facility is generally temperature-controlled but can become warm during the summer months.

Work is performed on second shift, with prep starting at 1:30, mixing at 2:30, and palletizing at 3:00, each running for approximately 8 hours.

The position requires standing for the full shift, performing heavy, repetitive tasks, and occasionally moving between two adjacent buildings, which may involve going outside during the shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Markham, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.60 - $18.60/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
