**Job Title: Prototype Assembler (3P)**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on assembling and wiring medium voltage drives and starters, using mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to build high-quality electrical cabinets and subassemblies.

You install and verify a wide range of electrical and electronic components, troubleshoot unusual assembly or wiring issues, and ensure all work meets established safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

You also contribute to continuous improvement activities, support training for new team members, and accurately document work in production systems.
**Responsibilities**
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical codes, pick lists, bills of material, and documented work instructions to guide assembly and wiring activities.

Assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on electrical cabinets.

Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts and subassemblies such as isolators, contactors, capacitor banks, and control panels.

Install electrical and electronic equipment and instruments including terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, PLC devices, switches, fans, heater circuits, and other components according to technical manuals and written instructions.

Install, replace, or rework electrical wiring, receptacles, switches, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.

Wire electrical components inside medium voltage drives and starters in accordance with approved electrical drawings and schematics.

Check wiring for loose or faulty connections and verify continuity of electrical and electronic equipment and components.

Verify parts and continuity of wiring using a multimeter on medium voltage drives and starters.

Install switchgear, transformers, contactors, switchboard meters, regulators, capacitors, rectifiers, earthing switches, reactors, power supplies, and other electrical components for medium voltage drives and starters.

Operate necessary hand and power tools to perform electrical wiring and assembly tasks safely and effectively.
**Essential Skills**
At least 2 years of electrical assembly experience, including panel wiring and general wiring work.

Strong ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and blueprints.

Proficiency in interpreting wiring schematics and related technical documentation.

Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in diagnosing and resolving assembly and wiring issues.

Experience using hand tools and power tools in an assembly and wiring environment.

Capability to work accurately with technical manuals, documented work instructions, and bills of material.

Ability to use a multimeter to verify continuity and troubleshoot electrical components and wiring.

**Work Environment**
This position operates on afternoon shifts, Monday through Thursday, from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., offering a consistent four-day workweek.

Work takes place in a manufacturing and assembly setting focused on medium voltage drives and starters, where you regularly use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment such as multimeters.

The facility follows structured safety, quality, and 5S practices, with documented work instructions and procedures guiding daily tasks.

The environment encourages collaboration, process discipline, and adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while maintaining a professional, respectful workplace.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CAMBRIDGE, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
